Warren’s Ride was a HUGE Success!

God provided the most perfect day on Saturday, May 17 for Warren’s Ride and Warren’s Warriors were out in force to STOMP out melanoma. Orange was everywhere! Prayers, praise, song, food, fun and fellowship were abundant throughout the day. In addition to raising funds and awareness for melanoma research, this day was an outpouring of love for Warren, Sue and the whole Dressler Family.

Although it is challenging to give an exact headcount for the day, 250 Warren’s Ride t-shirts were passed out and worn. Warren arrived at the event amid fanfare and applause after a stay in the hospital. He sang “Walk With Me” and prayed with walkers and riders as the event began. It was an awesome spectacle to see (and hear) 42+ motorcycles take off from Mt. Olive with Warren riding a portion of the route in the convertible chase car! Walkers in bright orange Warren’s Ride shirts captured the attention of folks in the Copperleaf subdivision as they participated in the Neighborhood Stomp. A silent auction ran throughout the day with lots of great items and contributed to the fundraising and fun. Not only were there some great “real” auction items, there were also donations of “Drive By Serenade by Sue Dressler and Danielle Frazier” as well as a “Drive By Serenade by Tom Vornholt.” Once the motorcycles returned, there was even a live auction for an autographed pair of Warren’s orange Converse sneakers! Once the auction gavel sounded, the winning bidders gave the shoes to Sydney and Johnny Dressler. Volunteers prepared a wonderful lunch and everyone enjoyed the band, Stone Martin aka Maxx Avenue, in the Mt. Olive picnic shelter.

All tolled, Warren’s Ride raised over $12,000 for melanoma research and just as importantly many prayers that a cure for melanoma be found. A special thanks to all who volunteered and/or participated in the days events.

On behalf of the organizers of Warren’s Ride, we would like to sincerely thank all who volunteered or participated. We all stand firm in our prayers for Warren, Sue and the Dressler Family.

As Warren said on his Caring Bridge blog, “I don't know if I would ever be able to thank everyone involved adequately enough. But let's try this for starters. To absolutely everyone who was involved in organizing, volunteering, attending, riding, walking, or just hanging out:

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Amen, baby!) Phillipians 1:3-6”
